Is this where the settings would be changed? This is where I am trying to make the change. See the attached screen shot of the presets from the print dialog box.
On to the main problem with the driver, I installed the HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X and as far as I can tell it was installed but the print quality is still EconoMode and I can't do anything to change it. Finally I restarted the computer and for now, that seems to have corrected the problem.
I tried al sorts of attempts for fix it but nothing seemed to make a difference. I could still use the printer and the dot would turn green when the printer was in use. Normally the default printer, if turned on, shows it is ready (green dot under its name) but this was different with a red dot and the symbol for something not connected. The printer was connected to the computer by USB and was turned on. Hello, today when I turned on the computer and checked the drivers just to see if anything was different on the presets, I noticed that the HP LaserJet 1300 showed in the System Preferences>Printers & Scanners as not connected to the computer. Scroll down the article to resetting the printing system.Īnd just for good measure make sure the ink cartridge has been inserted correctly. It would be preferable to have the printer connected directly to the mac.Īlso if no further progress is made try resetting the printing system, Keep scrolling down till you see your printer, it is in there.
Will take you to the list of printers that are supported under this HP print driver package, This includes the 19.13 driver that you have on your mac but will not be harmful to Ok here is a link to the HP drivers 5.1 which was updated in 2017, Interestingly the HP printer driver page for your printer does not give any route to driversįor your printer later than 2003.
